Presidential Debate Information
What We Know So Far…
According to our latest feedback from the City of Philadelphia and the Pennsylvania Convention Center, there will be road closures outlined in the attached map beginning Monday at 8 PM. The build for the road closures will be built starting Saturday, September 7th and then torn down immediately after the debate concludes late in the evening on Tuesday, September 10th. The security perimeter is 4th to 8th Streets and Race to Market Street, so the 676 highway will be closed at rolling times based on travel. The Westbound direction should not be affected. The Eastbound direction will experience significant delays during these times and should be avoided. Septa will not close its line but will not stop by 5th Street.
No protests have been officially filed but we do anticipate that there may be protests. We do expect these protesters to march in the direction of Old City and not stay in the vicinity of the convention center.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We advise you to avoid bringing big bags, due to heightened security with the events going in Hall B and the 300 level Meeting rooms of the convention center. Again, our event should not be affected by these events/security, but we're advising this just in case.
